How To Hire

Whether you are a trade professional or a DIY user, you can hire a digger / excavator / mini digger to complete all kinds of excavation jobs on site and at home. Our aim is to make digger hire as simple as possible.

Our mini digger hire rates are extremely competitive. You can hire a mini digger / mini excavator for a day, two days, a weekend, a week, two weeks, a month or longer. Based on the length of the hire and your location, we can quickly work out a hire quote and send your official quote to you via email. The quote will be broken down so you can see any and all costs associated with the hire, including the hire rate for the machine, deposit, any fuel charges and transportation costs to your postcode. If you accept our hire quote, we can begin the process of arranging the hire.

Information and ID

In order to arrange a hire, we will need a contact name, contact telephone number, full delivery address and two forms of ID from you. This is to confirm who you are (after all, we are handing over £20,000 or more worth of kit to you!) We need one photo ID and one proof of address. Photo ID can be a copy of your driver’s license or passport, and proof of address can be a utilities bill or bank statement, with the same address as the invoice address, and dated within the last 3 months. You can scan or take photos of your ID documents and send them to us in an email.


Hired In Plant Insurance is required in order to hire a mini digger / mini excavator or any other plant from us. If you are a professional contractor or from a large company, you may already hold this insurance. If so, we will need scanned copies of the insurance policy sent to us in an email to prove that you have the necessary insurance. If you do not hold this insurance (and the chances are that you don’t if you are a DIY user), we can help you to get this insurance. We make the process simple for you by getting you an insurance quote for the hire and sending that over to you for your approval. Upon approval, payment for the insurance is paid directly to our contracted insurance company.


Once we have your ID documentation and the insurance is confirmed, we will email you with an invoice for the cost of the mini digger hire. You can pay by credit or debit card via our secure online system. Once the cost of the hire is paid, your order is confirmed.


Once your order is paid, it is booked in. The mini digger / mini excavator that you ordered is delivered to your home / site / office or other premises at the start of your hire.


On the last day of your hire period, we will off-hire your equipment. Once your equipment is off-hired, collection will be arranged through the relevant depot. We aim to collect your equipment within 3 working days of off-hire. If you need to extend your hire during the hire period, you can simply give our hire team a call and they will be able to arrange an extension of the mini digger hire. When the mini digger is collected from you, our driver will check the fuel levels in the machine and you will be refunded for any leftover fuel in the days following the end of the hire. Once the machine has been checked over by our maintenance department and cleared, your deposit is refunded to you.
